The Law & Society Qualification Year is a pathway to the Law & Society program at York. It offers a focused first year of study with all the courses you will need to be considered for second year entry to the Law & Society program. This option is ideal if you don’t meet direct entry requirements but want to study Law & Society. By successfully completing 24 credits, including Law & Society Qualification Year required courses, with a final cumulative GPA of 5.0 (C+), you will be able to join the Law & Society program in second year. If you are not successful in completing the Law & Society Qualification Year requirements, the credits you earned in first year will allow you to pursue other programs, such as Human Rights & Equity Studies.
